Patrick, born and raised in Venice, Cailifornia, has been making art since he could first pick up a crayon. He has studied and is practiced in many forms of art including illustration, painting, sculpting, and music. He earned a bachelors degree in fine art from UC Davis whereupon graduating, formed a working relationship with world renowned artist and sculptor Michael Kalish. Patrick apprenticed with Michael for several years , then went on to assist him for another 5 years. He worked side by side with Michael on many commissioned pieces as well as on some of his larger installations. Working with Michael, Patrick developed a broad understanding of what it means to be a contemporary artist as well as a keen interest in pop art. More importantly, this is where he discovered the potential for using found objects as a medium. Patrick's art is simple and representational, however, like an onion, there are many layers to his work and there is always more than meets the eye. whether depicting synergy or a juxtaposing relationship, his art always creates a dialogue between the material he uses and the subject that is represented. His work is elegant and usually quite laborious, creating a powerful first impression for the viewer. Since striking out on his own, his work can be seen along the west coast from Los Angeles to Seattle and in the homes of many private collectors.
